Destination
This is the main cemetery in Frankfurt am Main, not Frankfurt (Oder). The neighbouring Jewish cemeteries are separate sites with their own access rules.
Public transport
The main entrance is by the Hauptfriedhof stop; the city lists U5 there. Other mapped references are Deutsche Nationalbibliothek by the Old Portal, Wasserpark on the east side, Marbachweg/Sozialzentrum in the north-west and Feuerwehrstraße in the north-east. Check routes and accessibility in the RMV timetable before travelling.
Choosing an entrance
- Main entrance on Eckenheimer Landstraße: administration, ceremonial hall and cemetery taxi.
- Old Portal / New Portal: southern sections; the New Portal is beside, not inside, the Jewish Cemetery on Rat-Beil-Straße.
- Friedberger Landstraße: eastern sections and Wasserpark.
- Marbachweg / Gießener Straße: northern areas.
The official plan shows one additional western weekday entrance, but no unambiguous precise point is available, so it has no marker.
Parking
Six parking areas are mapped: at the main entrance, two small areas by the Old Portal, one on the eastern side and two near Gießener Straße. Charges, customer access and local restrictions differ; check signs on site.
