Orientation walk from the main entrance to the east side
- Main entrance on Eckenheimer Landstraße: start by the Hauptfriedhof stop.
- Central cemetery administration: reference point for practical questions and the cemetery taxi.
- Ceremonial hall: historic core of the western entrance area; do not disturb services in progress.
- War graves information board: context for the remembrance areas in the eastern section.
- War memorial: memorial for the First and Second World Wars.
- Friedberger Landstraße entrance: finish near the Wasserpark stop.
Planning
The grounds cover about 70 hectares. Allow extra time, note the seasonal closing hour and plan the return route. The 18 water points are for grave care only. For individual graves, use the full grave reference in addition to the map.
